Wig & Hair Maintenance Tips
-
It is VERY IMPORTANT that you take care of your wig and your extensions as if it were your own!
- DO NOT handle your wig roughly! Make sure your wig is stored away properly to keep up the longevity. Make sure you are combing or brushing your hair daily at some point. After excessive wear (depending on daily activities) you want to remove any tangles that may have occurred.
- If you have curly/wavy hair please make sure that you detangke your hair from the bottom up using a “Denman” brush or any detangling brush. Brush or Comb from the bottom to the top.
- Make sure that you wash your curly/wavy hair at least once a week or every 2 weeks to refrain from product build-up. Use a sulfate free shampoo and condition VERY WEL. If you need help with doing so, i offer that service. Book accordingly under the “Wig Laundry” tab.
- Make sure that you wash your wig at least 1-2x every 2 weeks or 2-3x a month to prevent product build up, rid of oils, dirt, and sweat. You will tell a huge difference in what a wash & condition will do. If you need help with doing so, i offer that service. Book accordingly under the “Wig Laundry” tab.
- To keep the longevity of your wigs and hair please use a Silk Bonnet when going to sleep. Using satin pillow cases is a great option as well.
- When washing your wig or extensions use a T-shirt or a microfiber towel to dry your hair! A towel will cause frizziness.
- It’s always best to let your hair AIR DRY instead of blow drying to reduce heat damage. If you do use a blow dryer please use a heat protectant.
- When using high levels of heat use a heat protectant on your hair.
-
Use Alcohol & Sulfate free products on your hair!
-
To revive curls/waves in your extensions brush through your hair completely while it’s wet, use a leave in conditioner, and a LIGHT oil. Use mousse to give the curls/waves a firmer hold or to achieve the “wet look”.
RAW HAIR EXTENSIONS MAINTENANCE
Raw Hair behaves like your natural hair! Whatever you would do to your natural hair to keep it healthy please do the same with raw extensions. Hydration and Moisture are very important needed factors when handling your hair extensions.
- Please be sure to CO-WASH all hair extensions once you receive them for the best results and experience with your bundles and for hygiene purposes .
- Raw Hair requires a lot of moisture! Please be sure that you are washing and conditioning your extensions regularly (2-3x out of the month) and that you use a lighlight oil on your hair for added moisture.
- Please dry your hair hair extensions with a microfiber towel, or t-shirt. Towels can prevent unwanted frizz and overtime breakage.
- Please be sure you use high end products on your hair extensions to prevent drying, shedding, and tangling. Please no products with no alcohol or sulfates as well. Failure to do an cause dissatisfaction with your extensions.
- Always use a Heat Protectant! Failure to do so will cause shedding and breakage from the excessive heat in your hair extensions.
- When combing or brushing your raw hair extensions please be sure to comb from the BOTTOM to the TOP. Especially with textures that are curly. Also work in sections for the best and combing & detangling process.
- For nighttime care, please be sure to use a satin bonnet or satin pillowcases to prevent unwanted frizz, breakage, or shedding.
